About the Audit Committee:
The Audit Committee is composed of two Trustees and two independent community members. The Audit Committee supports the Board of Trustees by providing governance and oversight. The Committee’s responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the financial reporting process
- Evaluating the internal control framework
- Reviewing risk management practices
- Monitoring the performance and function of the Board's internal and external auditors
- Ensuring compliance with legislative obligations
The Committee meets at least three times per year, with additional meetings scheduled as necessary.
Eligibility Criteria:
We invite applications from individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Possess accounting, senior financial management, or relevant business experience, with a solid understanding of governance, public sector accounting, and auditing standards.
- Are not a current employee or officer of the Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board, any other district school board, or school authority.
- Do not have a parent, child, or spouse currently employed by the Board.
- Reside in Bruce or Grey County and contribute to Catholic school education taxes.
